This rural project is located in Hawkes Bay. The building platform is at the top of the northern side of a hill which screens it from the existing house and farm buildings. The elevations of the site affords expansive views which take in Te Mata Peak, Kahuranaki and the Tukituki river and valley.

The plan responds to the views with careful placement and set out of the rooms oriented to the key focal points. Plan plan form is a simple assembly of rectangles under a long wedge roof - the Cheese in "Mac n Cheese". The Mac is all about the use of macrocarpa timber for the cladding that was from trees felled and milled on the farm.
